Laptop Program

Laptop Program

Presently, Brunswick employs the laptop program starting in grade 9. The School is fully wireless with a state of the art high-speed  802.11n network. Though crucial educational issues will continue to be heavily scrutinized, we genuinely believe we are well on our way in creating a more dynamic, interactive and collaborative learning environment. The technology was never intended to replace what the Brunswick faculty does so well; instead we merely aim to facilitate communication, access to resources, and creative thinking through the use of technology.

As participants in Brunswick’s Laptop Program, all students in grades 9-12 are expected to bring a functioning laptop computer to all academic classes.   Student lease laptops through the school;  further details of this leasing program are available here.  Access to our school network is provided by high speed wireless (802.11n) and hard-wired Gigabit Ethernet technology. Through the school network, students have access to campus email, the school’s intranet, the Internet (via a Fibre connection), and to their personal storage space on network servers. Appropriate use of laptops and all campus technology is clearly spelled out in Brunswick’s Acceptable Use Policy, printed in the Student Handbook and available here.

Any questions concerning the Laptop Program should be directed to Sunil Gupta.
