The Belize Marine T.R.E.C. Expedition is a program that immerses high school students in the life of a marine biologist. Belize is home to the second largest barrier reef in the world and English is the national language. Students will design and conduct group research projects on the reef, have the option to earn their SCUBA certification, and learn about the Mayan civilization by visiting the ruins at Xunantunich and the cave at Cha Chem Ha. The program is open to all students who have completed at least their first year of high school and will run June 13th to June 30th. The Program fee of approximately $4200 includes round-trip airfare, lodging, all meals, SCUBA gear with the exception of mask, fins, snorkel and wetsuit. Guy Pratt teaches AP Biology, Honors Biology, Oceanography and Environmental Science at Brunswick during the year. After earning his M.S. in Biology, Guy taught for 7 years at a boarding school before coming to Brunswick. He has been taking students to Central America since 2001.
