Webmaster Position
Become an integral member of our 8-person Development/Advancement Office at Brunswick School in Greenwich, CT. Brunswick School, founded in 1902, is an independent college-preparatory day school for 924 boys in grades Pre-K through 12. The Upper School grades 9 through 12 have a coordinate program with Greenwich Academy, a neighboring girls’ school. Reports to: Director of Development
Primary Responsibilities: Manage the School’s website: perform day-to-day site maintenance, coordinate with all four School divisions—Preschool, Lower, Middle and Upper Schools— academic, and athletic departments on content development and creation. Provide and prioritize event publicity. Assist with standards for design, perform navigation and browser compatibility, and advise colleagues on how to best optimize their content for online deployment. Provide writing, editing and proof-reading support for School publications and e-newsletters as needed. The ability to work and communicate well with others is essential while performing a wide variety of tasks. Develop ways to enrich and enhance the Brunswick School website in conjunction with the School’s web design and hosting service.
Hours: Full-time, Monday–Friday, year-round
PREREQUISITES
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with a minimum of five to seven years professional experience, preferably in marketing, communications, journalism, or related field required.
- Superlative writing, editing and proof-reading skills necessary
- Excellent organizational, as well as interpersonal, skills are essential to effectively prioritize and organize projects and meet multiple deadlines
- Must be proficient with technology on both PC and Mac platforms
- Photography skills would be most beneficial
- Experience in a non-profit organization or school is preferred
The ideal candidate will be a fast-paced team player who is self-directed and self-motivated, yet takes direction well. The webmaster must work well with others, be highly detail-oriented, able to multi-task easily, and have impeccable follow-through on all projects. Flexibility and a good sense of humor are a must, as well as the highest level of discretion and professionalism.
