OVERVIEW
Brunswick’s basketball program is focused on helping young men appreciate the strength that comes from teamwork, the growth that results from developing one’s potential, and the life lessons that the sport can teach. The success of the program is measured by the commitment to excellence that athletes and coaches bring to the team and the sport. Players are expected to respect the game, their teammates, and opponents, and to enjoy the experience.
The program consists of four teams: Ninth Grade, Junior Varsity, Thirds, and Varsity. Its facilities utilize five basketball courts, including one with a pro-caliber floor. The Varsity team competes in the Fairchester Athletic Association and against numerous top-tier New England Boarding schools. Since 2000, the team has won nine FAA championships and seven FAA post-season tournaments. Players have gone on to play at such colleges as Wake Forest, Columbia, Middlebury, Virginia, Clemson, and Bowdoin. However, typically talented, multi-sport athletes anchor the Varsity team.
