Friends and family of Caleb Weiss '94 have launchd a website to support Caleb and his fellow marines and soldiers. Rather than just sending candy and magazines they came up with the idea of "One For The Troops", a program selling military-style bags. The profits from each sale will be donated to Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America, (IAVA) a non-profit, non-partisan organization dedicated to helping veterans. The website was just launched, (www.oneforthetroops.org) and is now officially in business selling the One For The Troops bags.
A little background information follows in a note from Caleb's sister, Gavin Weiss GA '97:
One For The Troops was inspired by our friend and brother, a captain in the United States Marine Corps, who is currently serving his third combat tour in support of Operation Enduring Freedom/Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Ever since his first deployment there has been a tremendous outpouring of support among family, friends, colleagues and acquaintances for our brother and his fellow marines. Before deploying in spring 2008, we asked him again how we could help and this time he recommended we think beyond sending him care packages and instead focus our energy on supporting veterans and their families.
The clear choice for a charity partner was Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America (IAVA), the first and largest nonprofit, non-partisan organization dedicated to supporting our veterans. IAVA's mission is to improve the lives of Iraq and Afghanistan veterans and their families.
To raise funds we quickly focused on the beloved military-issue "helmet bag" our brother had given us over the holidays. The bag's design is equal parts practical and cool. It has tons of pockets for gym shoes, beach reads, diapers and client presentations, while also earning the envious "where did you get that?" inquiry when toted around town.
The custom One For The Troops helmet bag is one way we can support our troops, a small token of appreciation that we know will go far (and turn a few heads along the way!) By partnering with IAVA, purchasing the One for the Troops bag will truly support those who serve for us every day.

The mission of the Alumni Association is to maintain and enhance the connection between Brunswick and its alumni. The intent of the partnership between the alumni and the School is to foster a sense of community and commitment. Brunswick currently has approximately 3200 alumni, 2100 of whom are reachable. 47% of our reachable alumni (excluding the college age classes) live in Fairfield or Westchester counties. 54% live in the New York metropolitan area.
There are currently six alumni serving on the 2007-2008 Board of Trustees: Richard Baker '84, Shep '89 and Ian '93 Murray, William Durkin '72, Thomas O'Malley '85, and Cort Delany '73.
A database on alumni, maintained by the Alumni Office, contains both home and business information. This is a searchable feature on this website in the password protected section. Call the Alumni Office (203-625-5865 or 800-546-WICK) if you have forgotten how to access that section or email cscott@brunswickschool.org.

Friends:
I've attached an invitation to the launch party for my campaign for New York State Assembly. As most of you know, I am challenging the incumbent, Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver, in September's Democratic Primary in the 64th Assembly District, which covers much of Lower Manhattan.
The party is on Wednesday May 7th, from 6:30 to 9:30, at 80 John Street, Apt. 14E. It is at the home of Jay and Gloria Cho. I hope you can make it.
Luke
