Physical Education

Recognizing that physical fitness and athletic skills are important to every child's development, the athletic program has traditionally been an integral part of a Brunswick education. The values of good sportsmanship, perseverance and learning to work with others in a team effort are learned through participation.

Beginning in Pre-School and continuing in the Lower School, physical education is a regular part of the curriculum. The boys develop their basic motor skills and muscle coordination, learning how to throw, kick, catch and run in non-competitive activities and games. The basics of team play are taught without the formality of actual competition. The program and philosophy stress total participation, success, fun, sportsmanship, mutual respect and development of self-esteem for each boy at every skill level.
