Parent Programs

Brunswick and Greenwich Academy have representatives to Greenwich town-wide Parents Together Parents Together, a local organization founded in 1979 to increase parental awareness and understanding of issues facing families. Parents Together publishes two newsletters which are distributed to the community quarterly.  The Brunswick and GA representatives attend town-wide meetings and plan workshops and lectures for our community on parenting issues. The Brunswick and Greenwich Academy Parent Programs Committees, with the support and guidance of school administrators, choose speakers who are recognized in their fields to address current topics of interest.

The first speaker for the 2008-2009 school year will be Dr. Madeline Levine, author of “The Price of Privilege”: How parental pressure and material advantage are creating a generation of disconnected and unhappy kids. The lecture starts at 10:30 with coffee at 10:00 am. This event is co-sponsored with Convent of the Sacred Heart and Greenwich Country Day School. Carpooling is strongly encouraged. The winter speaker is yet to be determined.  On April 23 Jim Miller, Dean of Admissions at Brown University will speak about  "A Humorous Guide to the College Admissions Process."  Coffee will be available at 8am and the program will begin at 8:30am in Massey Theater at Greenwich Academy.
