Industrial Arts
The industrial arts (shop) program begins in the Middle School. Skills are learned in the fifth grade and are further reinforced and augmented with new tool use in the sixth grade. Boys are introduced to all the major hand tools as well as a preliminary introduction to several power tools. Students who enjoy or have a natural talent for woodworking are encouraged to continue in this discipline in the seventh and eighth grades where woodworking is offered as an elective.
