Senior Peer Program
The senior peer program is intended to help freshmen adapt to life in the Upper School and cope with the issues and problems universally encountered by young adolescents. The program also affords the senior peer leaders the opportunity of developing and strengthening their leadership skills. Each year, approximately twelve Brunswick and twelve Greenwich Academy seniors are carefully selected and then trained to lead weekly discussion and activity sessions with small, coed groups of ninth graders. In this way, each freshman will have the chance to meet and interact with a diversified group of his or her classmates and to strengthen a sense of belonging to the Brunswick-Greenwich Academy Upper School community.
Applications for the 2005 Senior Peer Program will be available to all juniors at GA and Brunswick before spring vacation. The program next year will need 30 seniors --15 from GA and 15 from Brunswick. The decision process includes a written application, a personal interview with a faculty facilitator on the opposite campus, an advisor recommendation and a group interview.
