Brunswick's Upper School students are encouraged to strive for academic excellence, personal growth and maturity.
In addition to a rigorous college preparatory curriculum, the Upper School focuses on promoting the personal
responsibility and self-discipline that enables students to thrive at the university level. A diversified choice of extracurricular activities provides every boy with the opportunity to broaden his experience beyond the classroom. Students all take part in Brunswick's rigorous athletic program and participate in a wide range of activities, including student government, community service, the yearbook, the literary magazine, the newspaper, dramatic and musical productions and music groups.
The faculty advisor system at Brunswick is a major factor in the school life of every boy. All students are carefully matched with an experienced faculty advisor for the academic year. As important as is the advisor's responsibility to chronicle academic progress and to serve as liaison between school and parent, it is the advisor's role as friend and advocate that is most important. Through mutual respect and personal regard for the advisor/student relationship, Brunswick's teachers model values and help develop each boy's confidence in ways that will serve him throughout his life.
In addition to the support and guidance of his faculty advisor, personalized college placement counseling begins in the junior year. Brunswick is proud of its college admissions history, and the record the School's graduates have achieved at university level and beyond.
Upper School classes and extra-curricular activities are coordinated with Greenwich Academy, the neighboring all girls' school. Greenwich Academy's Upper School Academic Program can be found here.
